1889 - The Story
The area now known as Bricktown, just east of the downtown business district, was Oklahoma City's first warehouse and distribution district. Bricktown was founded just days after the Land Run of 1889, and was full of activity as a central hub of the state and the country, connecting via railroad, and later, major interstate highways. The address at 1 North Oklahoma was, amoung many things, a candy company for decades.
